Cabot Trail Relay Race

In 1988 the idea of holding a relay race around the Cabot Trail was created, and 6 teams of 17 runners per team tested out the feasibility of the idea. Thus was created one of the largest and most popular running events in eastern Canada. Today, 70 teams from across Canada and the USA compete in an event marked by team spirit and camaraderie. More than 1,000 runners travel the Cabot Trail which offers some of the most challenging and spectacular terrain in North America.

This 17-leg, 70-team, 2-day staged relay round the Cabot Trail. Please note though that this is a very demanding race we require all runners to be able to run a 9:30 minute/mile pace to participate. Distance: 276 kilometers / 185 miles Registration Fee: $1,955 per team. This fee includes entry into the race, race t-shirt, entrance permit to Cape Breton Highlands National Park and meal at the banquet. Please visit https://cabottrailrelay.com for more information.
